National High 5 Day? 擊掌日？今天是擊掌日。我一走進公司，就有人跟我說今天是擊掌日，去年這個時候一封不曉得從那個部門轉寄的信要大家慶祝擊掌日，信裡進一步解釋說這天你跟人都要擊掌以示招呼，還要每個收到的人轉寄給你部門裡的人，所以我一直以為那是個美國特殊的節日。沒想到我一些新來的同事(都是美國人)還問我這是個什麼節日，所以我開始懷疑如果連美國人都不知道這個節日，這有可能是我們公司自己搞出來的日子。這個穿著手掌道具服的人是我們公司其中一個副總裁，旁邊是一個招牌解說明不同的擊掌方式，實在太好笑了。 Today is the National High 5 Day. When I walked in the company this morning, somebody told me that today is the National High 5 Day. Last year around this time, there was an e-mail sent out from some department explaining this day. Everybody has to high 5 instead of saying hello to people. I thought it was a special holiday in America. But some of my new American coworkers asked me what is High 5 day, so I start to wonder is it really a holiday? or this is just a holidy our company made up. The guy who wore the hand costume is our IT VP. Right next to him is a sign that explains how to accurately high 5. It is really funny. 他們正在示範如何正確擊掌。They are demonstrating how to do an accurate high 5. 公司大廳還擺了一張桌子放滿了餅乾，巧克力讓員工自取。 There is a table full of cookies and chocolate for the employees. 餅乾還做成手的形狀，如果這真的是假的節日，這真的很用心想讓人相信。The cookies are in hand shape. If this is really a fake holiday, they are really trying hard to make people believe. 還有別針讓人別在胸前，公司還定做了T-恤。 They even have pin and T-Shirt made for this day. 我也拿了一個，不過我別在我桌子邊。 I took a pin, too. But I pin it by my desk. .
